Antonio Scontrino - Sogno d'amore for double-bass and piano

The Da Vinci edition, of which I am editor, was born due to the need of creating a readily available version of the work, written using modern all’ottava  notation instead of the original edition “actual note” notation. We provide two versions of the piano part, one for soloist tuning and one for orchestra tuning. The piece can be found in the Nova et vetera CD.

Le Fantasie di Bottesini alla luce della Poetica Belliniana

Bellini did not write any theoretical texts in which he expressed his musical poetics. They can, however, be deduced by the corpus of his letters. Understanding his poetics, also helps in performing Bottesini’s Fantasias in a more appropriate manner, as they contain themes from Bellini’s operas. It may also help perform other compositions by Bottesini, as he owes a lot to the Sicilian swan’s music.
